Sock bun!?

Am I the last person on earth to hear about the sock bun??? LOL :smooched:
I watched a youtube video last night on how to curl your hair using the sock bun.. so I decided to give it a try! My results:

I wish I would have taken a before picture.. I looked hilarious with that bun on the top of my head.... :huh:

I ended up having to curl a few pieces of hair... but all in all, it took FIVE MINUTES to fix my hair this morning! Getting all skinnified has inspired me to start fixing my hair.. ermm.. once a week, anyway. But since this was so easy, I may start fixing my hair TWICE a week! :laugh:

    I only heard about it last week and thought I was the last of my circle friends to know about it. Turned out they had never heard of it either - cue a dozen photos of my friends with ridiculously large buns atop their heads landing on my fb page.. I can't seem to do it right!!!

    I only found out about it last week, and I even rocked that huge bun the whole day in public to have my hair curly for the evening. You had a bit better results than I did, so I guess i need more practice lol!

    I've never heard of the sock bun...might have to check it out! I too want to start fixing my hair, but don't want to spend an hour curling it each day...THANKS for posting!

    I used a sock bun when I was in the military, I put it in a little differently though. I didn't realize it could make curls, neat!

    Oh!! Thats how they make those Princess Leia buns!! Yeah...I am a nerd. lol Now I have to try it on my day off. lol

    I am sitting here with two sock buns thanks to you. My hair is too short in the back to put something around it, so I could only do it on the sides. Can't wait to see how it comes out!

    I always wear my hair in a sock bun when I go out :) looks really dramatic with fake eyelashes and big dangly earings :DD

    Yep! Sock buns. I was taught how to do these by my drill instructors in boot camp. I rarely wore them though. I had to wear a cranial (it's a helmet with goggles and "mickey mouse ears" to protect your eyes, head and the loud noises from the aircraft.) at work, so I put my hair in a low pony tail, braided it, then twisted it up in a bun. No hair pins were allowed, sock buns required hair pins. They look nice and neat though.I did wear them on special occasions. Sometimes I even braided the hair before I wrapped it around the sock. Looks good in uniform.

    It's awesome... I do it when I run so when I'm done my hair is done... Quick shower and take it out to get ready fast. Glad you found it... Looks cute.
