Observation for the 35+ Crowd. Are people getting worse?
I assume this applies mostly to the 35 and over set, but it might apply to the younger as well.
I find more and more I need to tell other people how they should be doing their job.
Do other people find this true as well?
I know I am kind of anal and "high functioning" but every week or so, I have to confront someone about what a crappy job they are doing.
It gets worse and worse and I am not sure its me, I think everyone else is just not pulling their weight.
Do you feel the same way, or I am just crazy?
Two recent examples;
Recently when I was sick, soda cans built up so we went to return them. The manager said I had too many. He could reimburse $12, but not $15. I reminded him I spend $1200 per month there and because I had been sick, this was a singular event. He didn't care. I took my $1200 per month and went elsewhere.
Another example is my health club, New York Sports Club.
The parking lot lights haven't worked in two months. They are on in the daytime and off at night. It gets really, really dark. Obviously its a control issue and the clock needs to be fixed or something like that. I realize the parking lot is rented from a developer, but doesn't anyone take ownership of the problem and walk it through till its fixed.
Does anyone else see more examples of this?
