Trying new things

I've always been a closet exerciser. Having body image issues I thought it best to hide while working out. I've been hiding for well over a year now and this week I've tried a new approach that seems to work so I thought i'd share it.
You know the term dance like no one is watching? Well my new gym mantra is work out like everyone is watching. Now that it's nicer out I open the door to the gym and exercise like I'm in the spot light. This accomplishes multiple things. I don't give up so easy because some imaginary person may see me quit and I take special care to do all my exercises in proper form. I focus so much on performing for my imaginary audience that I don't notice time or how much I'm sweating. It's also an ego boost putting me in the instructor roll. Instructors don't give up they set examples for their students.
This may sound stupid but the next time you get a few minutes host your very own aerobics class with no one else in the room. If you are creative and have an active imagination you can be your very own instructor and the center of attention in your work out.

I admit that I do the same when I am at the gym...I imagine there is someone watching me to make sure that I am not giving up (I call that my Jillian). While at home, I like my hubby to be there, because his presence alone provides me the same motivation to succeed.
I have noticed that it makes a huge impact on my workouts.0 -
