OK, I am still in the process of moving and have no internet access. I am living in a furnished apartment on the 2nd floor, while my eventual home is being renovated on the 3rd floor. This will take approximately six weeks.

What do I do for Internet Access? I need a temporary and a permanent solution. I had Cable (TV & Internet) before moving but am so pissed off at them that I don't really want to go back to it.

Suggestions? If it matters, I am in Racine, WI and already have Wireless DSL Router - Cable is admittedly much faster.

Help.

See if anyone has their wireless connection unencrypted. If you use it, make sure you don't enter important information like passwords for your bank. If you want to be nice to said victim, be sure and send naked photos.

I was in a temporary place once for a few months. I asked my neighbor if they had internet, and they did. I told them my situation, that I was there temporarily, and asked if I could use his internet, even offering to pay a share of it while I was there. He put his password on my computer so I could use it. You could try something like that....

Just be wary of sending personal info. I could open my router then turn on a packet sniffer (no, this is not dirty for once) to capture personal information.

Depending on your carrier and your cell phone, you might be able to use your phone as a wireless hotspot. I do that through verizon... costs me $20 and is a month to month contract... nothing locked in long term and it didn't affect the terms of my cell phone contract.
