Hello!
I am new to myfitnesspal but not new to losing weight. The highest weight I have been was 228 at the beginning 0f 2011. I have lost some on my own and I am now down to 208.5. I never used to have a weight problem. I was always active, ate healthy but didn't have to count calories. Then 8 years ago I got on birth control and gained 40 pounds within 3 months, but my eating and exercise habits had not changed. They had to take me off that particular type of birth control because it was causing so many different health problems including dangerously high blood pressure. Once they changed my birth control the weight gain stopped but I did not lose and by that time I felt miserable and had no energy. Then I moved and started college. I was working and going to college full time, no exercise and eating more fast food than I ever had before. The pounds slowly crept on. For the last 6 years I have stayed over 200 pounds but I am now done.
My husband and I are wanting to start trying for a baby in a few months but before we start I want to lose as much as I possibly can because I want to be healthy and feel good while pregnant and healthy after the pregnancy.
I hope to find friends on here so that we can support each other in our weight loss journey.
Original Starting Weight: 228
Current Weight: 208.5
Ultimate Goal Weight 130

However I would be happy to just reach 160-150 before getting pregnant.

I have not officially been diagnosed with PCOS but I have most of the symptoms and the doctor has put me on metformin to help me with weight loss and getting my cycle regular.
I get overly frustrated with the fact that I pretty much have to lose weight in order to get pregnant. :grumble:
If there are any other women on here trying to lose weight before TTC maybe we could support each other. I welcome any weight loss buddies though.
