Ipod has been MIA for awhile now. I want to send it off to be fixed, but am not sure who to trust. I was told I can't send it to Apple bc it's been jailbroken. Anyone have any suggestions of someone I can trust? Preferably someone you have had success with. I really wanna use it in the gym. It's a 3rd Gen 32G if I'm not mistaken

Depends on what's wrong with it, usually if its jailbroke but within warranty periods you restore it back to factory and see if that fixes the problem, if not then it's eligible to send back for whatever is needed for repairs.
My problem is getting some data off of mine, the computer it was synced with died and now it's the only source of the photos etc that are on it. Haven't been able to find something that works to get the data from the iPod to the computer so I'm stuck.

Mine won't charge or turn on. I deff believe the battery is dead, but I'm thinking something is also wrong with the charger port. I just want it back. It's deff not under warranty anymore.

If you think it's the port itself then you've tried different cables and different places to plug it in for charging?

As far as it being out of coverage goes, repairs depending on what's wrong could well cost as much as a replacement unit. You might luck into someone via craigslist or kijiji or similar that does it for fun changing batteries out from units with broken screens etc, worth a look.
