I have just joined this site like 5 minutes ago. I have tried things like this before, but this one has an android app I can keep up to date with so today is DAY ZERO! I want to shift at least 10 of these pesky extra pounds by Christmas, so wish me luck! Looking forward to surprising my grandparents when they get back from India next March, as they are always going on at me about my weight. So over the next 5 or so months I'd like to lose at least 1.5 stones. Hopefully more though.

Can't wait for the new thinner me!

Welcome to MFP!!! You defiantly have found the right site!!! I love using the app (and the barcode scanner) and find myself filling out my daily food intake early even before I have eaten! I also find myself doing a search if we are going somewhere to eat to find out what would be best for my body!! Your doing an amazing thing by changing your life and you can do it!! :D

Thanks! What is the barcode scanner? I really feel frumpy and shapeless. Just want to slim down. And that is such a good idea, I eat out alot due to university/work/social life so there is no reason why I need to fill my body with greasy rubbish thats doing it no good!

I think in order to be successful I need to become more organised. I kind of live in the minute with very little forward thinking. Which results in buying sandwiches and fast food on the go. I think this week I'll try and get in the swing of things by thinking ahead with regards to food and exercise, So that I can have more time.

In the app on your phone you can scan stuff instead of entering it! (from the barcode!) its great!! :D
Awesome great first goals! Start slow and get into the habit! Your doing the right thing by making the food you eat important!! :D I agree all that greasy stuff just makes me feel like blah!

I know what you mean. I'm already finding it difficult. I think it's important for me to change my habits. I work at McD's so when I get my break I can grab something....and I'm usually hungry so I'll get something that is ready like fries and a cheeseburger, or a S+E bagel if it's a breakfast shift. And then for the rest of my shift I just feel dumpy and yucky. I know I could be having a grilled chicken salad and bottle of water for a fraction of the calories, or bowl of porridge or even a philadelphia bagel. But by the time I get onto my break I just want to stuff my face with whatever is ready! Makes me feel a bit rubbish tbh.

Also I was very organised last night. I got some turkey breast out the freezer the night before. I was planning on making a healthy version of turkey fajitas for our tea, but the turkey hadn't defrosted properly!!! So we had SF chicken steaks and chips...and it was nowhere near as nice.

So better planning from no onwards. And a plan to change my terrible habits of grabbing food on the go.
