Can I be part of the "cool kids" group? I'll bring eye candy!

I have to be in the eye candy group. It has zero calories and sometimes it leads to things which burn calories.

I'm not really looking forward to groups.

Like most things in my life I need friction for it to be fun ;) I love debate, I love challenging opinions, I love well constructed arguments. I need some one to push against me to bring out the best in me. I don't do very well in environments where everybody tends to agree like nodding dogs and spend their day saying "I love you....no I love you...you're the greatest....no you're the greatest".
    You're the greatest!

    No you are!

You're all the greastest. Group hug!!!

I'll start one in which we rarely bother to speak to each other.

Thats the long term relationship group.

Agreed, it would be very boring and we do get off-topic which can be fun, but there is a reason religion doesn't make for polite conversation. All i am saying is that if you feel that strongly about religion and need to discuss it there are vehicles out there far better than MFP chat threads. Where you don't have to be subjected to the opposition, which as we have seen can turn into a sh-t fight:bigsmile:

I'm not looking for a forum on religion. I'm married to a theologian and work at a Catholic school. I can get that elsewhere. What I'm talking about is being able to freely mention God or some inspirational quote. We can't do that on the public forums because it can offend others. I get that. I was just saying it would be nice to be in a group where it was cool to do that without offending anyone.

You totally suck! I'm guessing, of course, because I don't know what you do in your free time. We could dialogue about it like adults though ;-)

I think I want to break up already LOL.
I was thinking more along the lines of all the aloof people getting together to turn our backs on each other.

...and just reading the statements here shows the concern I have. People disappearing because they primarily remain in their "group". The atheist group, theist group, over-the-line group, natural food group, pregnant mommie group, pregnant daddie group...completely fragmented. Not only will i have to check my feeds, I'll have groups to check in on also.

Don't get me wrong. The level of complaining has made this a necessity, but it saddens me in a way also.

I think it sucks that even in this thread, just talking about groups, has people disrespecting others' views. Just because I'm a Christian, doesn't mean I don't want to hear what an atheist says (I have some good friends who are atheists and we get along just fine). Just because I eat meat, doesn't mean I don't want to dialogue with a vegetarian. I understand the need for groups, too, but I agree with you that it's too bad.

^^^^ This. . . I love having a diverse group of friends. . it keeps life interesting. . There is no need for people to be rude to others.

I won't start one, but I hope to join some. I'm hoping to be in a group that can openly discuss religion, whether it's inspirational quotes or theology in general. I'm not hoping for just like-minded people, either. I like to dialogue with people of different backgrounds and beliefs. It will be nice to be able to discuss things that we can't on the public forum.

I think there are whole websites where you can do just that. How about we focus on health and fitness on this site?

Because to some of us here it is a huge part of our journey~

Because life doesn't have to revolve entirely around health and fitness. This place would be pretty boring if every topic was just about calories, carbs, fad diets, etc.
Isn't that why the creator(s) of this site also created the "Chit-chat, fun and games" forum as a part of this site? C'mon, a good laugh burns calories too :flowerforyou:

I want to join a political group too.

And I'm going to start my own group called "Prudes With Sticks up Their Butts".   I get to be President.

You may be the President, but there is another MFP'r that deserves and has earned the title of "Supreme Dictator for Life" of a 'Prudes With Sticks up Their Butts' group!

I find that the people who declare others should grow up and relax are usually the ones who start name calling and insulting anyone who disagrees with them. I'd like to be in on threads where we can talk like adults, without constant "adult" content. Someone said that there are different sites for religious talk. Well, there are other sites for sexual content, too.

I don't usually start groups, but I think I might start a group or two. I mean I know there will probably be gaming groups and other geektastic groups, so I think I might start some dedicated towards books like a YA paranormal books group or something. I don't know. However I do feel that there should be a group dedicated to British comedy like The IT Crowd or Monty Python. Oooooh and a vintage group and wannabe a pinup girl group. Yikes, I think I might end up making several groups and just go group crazy. I have waaaay too many interests.
