Hey guys!
So being in a college dorm and trying to count calories is not working very well for me. I have a wonderful bf who is 6'4" and weighs 180 something and can eat whatever his heart desires and gain nothing. It does not make things better when he buys bags of Halloween candy and leaves it in my room for me to eat (which unfortunately I do). I basically need a hard core trainer and motivator. Yes I do want this to happen and I do want to achieve my goals, but when Im the only one in my family and friends trying to do this, it get hard. I NEED HELP!!!!!!

Is there a gym at your school that has people available to work with you? What about talking with someone at the counseling center for some in person support. And then you always have the successful people here (I wish I could say I was one of them but not yet...)0

i think you need to let everyone you are close to in your life know that you are taking getting healthy seriously. In particular you need to have a chat with your boyfriend. He needs to take it seriously too so that he doesn't do things like tempt you with candy. Then hopefully they will be better support for you.
Otherwise you always have us here...0 -
Hey! I lived in the dorms last year and I know its tough! I managed to lose 15 lbs while doing it tho0

Hey girl!
I friend requested you, but I know first hand how important having a support system is and how difficult it is sticking with a healthy lifestyle in college! I'm also 19 years old and a sophomore in college and I'm totally here to help keep you motivated and in this lifestyle for the long hall!0 -
i'm in the same boat!
in college, boyfriend was an all-state swimmer and has the swimmer's body/metabolism, candy freaking everywhere.
yep, the same boat. haha i'm here for you!0 -
I didn't see the college dorm thing.
perhaps you could put a sign up and find some other people in your dorm who are interested in joining you in some fitness training sessions. If you had some extra money you could get a personal trainer to do a group bootcamp session once a week or something. Or otherwise you could just all take turns to lead the group in some kind of physical activity that can vary. Having friends on the journey with you will really help, and who knows you might meet some people in your dorm you would have never got to know otherwise.0 -
I have to say that logging in to MFP is my support system, and I have brought my mom, dad, and boyfriend on board as cheerleaders...I also live with a boyfriend who can really eat whatever he wants (I currently outweigh him by 60lbs!!!). My tips? First, have a talk with your boyfriend and get him on your side. Second, log into MFP everyday and cultivate a group of friends who will cheer you on! I'll be sending you a friend request shortly!! Good luck, you can totally do it!0

Ask yourself....DO YOU WANT IT? And be honest with yourself. And if that answer is YES. THEN GET IT. And talk to your BF about working out with you...even if its just a walk. let him know you want his support.
If your answer is YES, feel free to add and I will support you!0 -
UPDATE!!!!!!
I am no longer with this man, and this does not apply lol.
My fiance has been my friend since Kindergraden and i love him dearly.0
