I'm not sure why I am not able to figure this out so I thought I would chance looking really stupid and ask on here. LOL

I did week 1 day 3 of C25K tonight and I need to know how fast I ran during the running part. The whole thing took me 31min. 9 of those were running, the other 22 were walking 3mph. In total I went exactly 2 miles. So how fast was I running during those 9 min?

You traveled 0.9 miles in 9 minutes at your running speed. That is a 10 min mile or 6 mph :)

Edit: omg must show my work to get full credit!!

    x miles X 3 miles

    22 mins 60 mins

this shows that you did 22 minutes at a pace of 3 mph. cross multiply to get 66 = 60x , divide by 60 to show that your walking minutes added up to 1.1 miles of walking. If you did 2 miles total, that leaves 0.9 miles to running. And 0.9 miles running in 9 minutes is 10mph :D hope I did that right.

ooooh - get a garmin HR monitor!!!! It calculates your pace for you as you run, and when you're done with yoru run and plug it into your computer, it shows a map of where you went (including the names of the streets and everything!) and shows your overall pace, your best pace, your speed, calories burned, and any other detail you can imagine. A little graph shows up too that charts whatever you ask it to - you just click the option - and you can see what your pace was when walking versus running. $180 at Walmart.com

I use iMapMyRun it tells you speed, elevation, if you were going up hill and etc, and shows you the route you took on a map.
