I know that with the meetings you have the support, but i could never find transportation anyways to those things. I would love to use myfitnesspal and think that it is just as promising as the WW tracker online. I have used that before and lost weight, but had to cancel subscription due to limited income. So, i am just wanting to get some of your opinions. Do you think WW online is a waste of money? Thanks! :)

Yup take a poke around, its free and there are a fair few folks doing quite well.

As for WW online being a waste of money, yup again pretty much, MFP is free.

Yes, as long as you make the commitment you can be just as successful. I am a previous WW.

If you need persoanl support, branch out here, use the forums, Get some MFP friends, enjoy the ride.

    You can do it.

MFP is like a huge weight watchers. thee is far more support and people just like you what ever the issues with weight you can find friends with the same or similar problems to encourage you, support you and console you if you fall of the wagon. plus there are loads of lovely people who will help you just because they want you to succeed.

WW isn't a waste of money if it works for you. it didn't for me but everyone is different.
    good luck and every success

I have always been an advocate for W.W, in fact many stones and pounds ago I was a leader for them.It does work and there is loads of support..........but only once a week. Here on MFP you have support 24/7, day and night. The forums are great and help in many ways. You can make your own group of friends from all over the globe and share tips and give and recieve encouragement..........the list is endless. But most of all ......IT WORKS AND ITS FREE !!!!
I have been on MFP since June and I am well pleased with my progress, I have made friends with fellow "dieters" in America and we have helped eachother along the way as well as finding new stuff out! As you can see I am now an advocate for MFP.........so give it a try my friend and GOOD LUCK........you can add me as a friend and we can take the journey to a new you together !!!!!!

I did WW for years and it did work. It worked for me when it was a simple allocation of points each day. If you earned more through exercise, then great - you just added those points to your daily allocation and ate them (or not). I was very successful on that WW programme. Today however, after they have changed the program by changing the points system altogether by giving you a bucket of points for the day, then a bucket of extra points for the week and then you could also earn extra points through exercise all the while making fruit and some veg free points, made it all confusing and easy to overeat!

This programme on this site is simple (calories allocation based on your weight loss goal + exercise calories earned through exercise = total amount of calories you have to eat each day), the people are great and motivational and it's free.

In summary, this site is WAY better!

    Good luck :)

I've never used WW online before, but have used another site that provided meal plans etc.

I don't think I was successful as I could've been, and that was only because I wasn't getting involved with the community as I could have. Plus, I also wasn't being accountable to myself....

I guess the only advantage that WW online & sinmilar sites have, is that you're provided with a meal plan/guide for the first 2-4 weeks - but on here you have to make up you're own.

If you're the type of person that wants/needs a set meal plan, then maybe those sites are for you.

So, I feel MFP can work just or even better than any other site - but only if you're ready to make it work.
