I think I have a hernia, this is most likely from carrying around my disabled son who is nearly 5. I'm gonna go get it checked out, as now I've discovered it I can feel it all the time! What exercise should I be doing? I want to carry on running, I don't think that should be a problem, but I have also started using Insanity and P90X! Should I stop using these? If I can't work out I'll go insane!

I was also told that I had a hernia, after a routine stomach operation. That was 4 years ago, it doesn't bother me much at all so I never went back to get it seen to. I only feel it every now and again, very rarely!

At the time I was doing a lot of weight lifting and my trainer was a little too excited about how strong I was and used to get me to lift all sorts of weights, the surgeon said that was more than likely the cause.

If it's really bugging you, get it seen to, otherwise, bat on! I don't think running would aggravate it, but I'm not a doc....best to go see one of them instead! Good luck!!

You MUST get it fixed! I had a double-hernia above my belly button as a result of strenous abdominal exercises. I had my OP 2 years ago and was back in the gym within a few weeks. It can be very dangerous if you do nothing about it! Please go see a specialist!

^^please listen! I had one several years ago (my third) and I ignored it, until one day I was in so much pain and was so sick I passed out. Fortunately I was able to call the ambulance and unlock the door before doing so as I knew I was in bad shape. I had to have emergency surgery. Take care of yourself and see a doctor! Your child needs you to be healthy.
