Just was hoping to get some thoughts on if people think (or know would be helpful) the sauna after a workout helps lose weight in the long run or if it is just a short term weight loss that will be put right back on during your next meal.

Sauna is good for releasing water retention and the excess sodium from your body. Do a 15 minute session in the sauna, and take a water jug with you.

for me, I believe cooling my muscles slowly helps prevent pain & cramping. I'd sauna after a workout if I could. As it is, I take a HOT shower & finish cool. I get massages too. Many folks don't realize how tense & kinked their muscles are until a massuese gets ahold of you

If you want to recover faster, I was always taught/told to do like a cold bath first for a few minutes and then get into a sauna or hot tub after. I find if I do heat after a workout, I either get sore from a workout I shouldn't have gotten sore from or I am more sore than usual. The cold bath kind of sucks, but it does help.

Yeah I plan on trying a massage soon. Unfortunately I dont think I can make it a habit because they are a bit pricey
