Alternative to trail mix

I have read in countless articles and diets that trail mix is a good thing to much on for an in between meal snack because it keeps you full and is full of nutrients.

However, my issue is that I have a nut allergy and all trail mixes and granola contain nuts (unless I am missing some obvious one).

Anyone have any alternatives-homeade or store bought? Or ideas for snacks in general.

Thanks

My alternative would be to eat meals that keep you full until your next meal, so you dont have to snack. That works better for me and my liver.

But if you still want a snack maybe try beef jerky, hard boiled eggs, carrots/ranch, berries, yogurt etc.

What about Japanese rice cracker mix?

They are normally pretty low fat and good to snack on

Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dried fruit (raisins, dried cranberries and other berries, banana chips, etc), healthy dry cereals, mini pretzel sticks, chocolate chips . . .

I did a Google search for 'nut free trail mix' and found something called 'Enjoy Life' trail mixes that are gluten-free, dairy-free, peanut-free, tree-nut free, soy free, egg free and casein-free. Here is the link if you want to check it out.

try Yogi granola crisps or snack on dry cereal - cinnamon cheerios are delicious.
  • I've seen this! You could do edamame, pretzel sticks, dried fruit, soynuts (aka, soy beans baked), wasabi peas.... there are alternatives. Trail mix is a great way of getting healthy things you dont normally eat in your diet and balance out fat/protein/carbs.
