I recently finish my associates and I'm wondering what can I do with it.. the University has gotten extremely expensive..
UGH!!!!! I'm feeling frustrated :(

(sorry for the misunderstanding I got my associates in science, basically all the pre-requisites for nursing. Now I must transfer to the university and get my BA in RN., but I'm stuck since Univ. have gotten too expensive)

When I graduated with a BS in biology I couldn't find a job. Ended up getting a MS and then had a lot more opportunities. I realize that isn't super helpful though if you don't want to continue with school! Sorry!

Yeah...I think continuing with school would be your best bet. Yay for graduate school!

I'd say get your foot in the door to the healthcare profession. Are you qualified as an LVN? Maybe the business side of healthcare that requires some nursing background, like nurse auditing of charts. I was a Practice Manager and in healthcare for years (on the business side), and I was always looking for people with a background in nursing, and it didn't h ave to be RN. Good luck to you!

So you got the AS in nursing? I might be misunderstanding. Have you thought about sitting for the Board to get your RN license?

Yes, this! Your school doesnt have job placement available either? If you get your RN license - youre golden. You are qualified to sit for it now that you have your AS.

Yes! You don't have to have your BSN to get an RN. Just an associates. My husband's best friend got his AS, got his RN, and has been working ever since.

You are not screwed over at all. Have you tried applying for scholarships, grants, or FAFSA to continue your education towards a BA? I highly recommend getting your Bachelors done if you can somehow. I'm going towards my Masters because unfortunately that's basically required to receive the best opportunities.

Borrow some money and get that RN done. I have an Associates in Nursing, which was a 3 yr degree at my school. One more year and I would have got my 4 yr RN. I shoulda, woulda, coulda done more. I was busy in life, though, and it's worked out for me. Go get what you want and don't let things get in your way. If there is a will there is a way. Maybe not a timely way, but still a way.
