This morning I did my work out...running for 30 mins & i didn't sweat like i usually do...I know its because its cool out today but did i still have just as good of a work out as i usually do? For some reason I feel like I didn't because i didn't sweat as much..& i know its not me getting used to my work out because just yesterday I did the same work out & was sweating like a beast lol...So basically does the cold weather making me not sweat as much gonna effect my work out in any way?

Sweat is your body's way of cooling itself, so if it's cooler out, it may just not need cooling. Elevating your heart rate determines your workout efficiency.0

I think the cooler weather has a small to moderate effect on calorie burn. I know, because of using my Hear Rate Monitor, that when it is very hot and humid, my heart rate gets high faster and stays high longer after I stop working out. Thus, I burn a few more calories than in cooler weather according to the monitor. I've read online that this is because your body is burning calories trying to cool itself off. Of course, I had someone tell me once that you burn calories just trying to stay warm. So I'm not sure about the calorie burn. But I CAN say that my heart rate is definitely higher in warmer weather.
Anyone else out there know more about this?? I'd be interested in the answers too. . . .0 -
I just did 1.5 miles this morning going to work 62 degree weather and I sweated. Your body's hydration levels affect your ability to sweat (or as the body sees it, cooling down). If you are dehydrated that could cause you to sweat very little when active. Your best friend in your endeavor to lose weight is......WATER!!! Drink plenty of it all day, every day. It is recommended that you consume 64 fluid ounces a day, but if you are active you should increase this. If your water intake is low before a workout a sports drink will be better suited than water to replenish your hydration levels and other vital nutrients.0

water isn't the issue...i drink well over 100 ounces a day..and i did sweat..just not crazy like i usually do when its warm outside.0

Then, it could just be an instance of it being cold outside and your body didn't have as great a need to cool down. You sort of answered your own query by stating it is usually warm when you work out.0
