Start over, or pick back up?

I've said it before, but I fell off the wagon several months ago. I have a sudden burst of dedication and think I'm jumping back in, but then I cave again the following day. I've gained 5lbs since I "fell off," but I'm still down 20. While gaining is NOT ideal, I suppose it could be worse.

Anyway, I was thinking about restarting my ticker. Thoughts? Would you erase your progress and start from scratch, or just pick up where you left off? Part of me wonders if seeing that "21" there is kinda satisfying me. KWIM? Then again, I'm proud of that 21 and I don't want to hide it! LOL

The thing about changing your life is it's bloody hard. AND requires a crap load of persistance and dedication. As a mom, and employee, and everything else we tie our selves down with, sometimes the only thing we can do is own up to our life. Eat something you shouldn't have? ok. track it and move on. loose some focus? ok. find something to pull you back and move on. You could start over but that always feels kind of like a defeat to me. I'd rather just look at where I went awry and move on. I"m not perfect, although I try.

The ticker is a personal thing. It reminds me where I've come from, and where I'm not going back.

oooohhhh...interesting thought. my ticker is halfway to my goal weight, and i think my motivation has been not seeing it approach goal, but departing from my original weight. maybe a reset would get my brain back into gear - i've been holding right around 190 for about 4 months now just from being slack. not slack enough to gain, but not dedicated enough to lose.

i'll think about this. if might be just the trick i need.

I've fallen off the wagon many times!!! and I've logged everything......even the weight gains! i wouldn't change my ticker, it took me too damn long to get here and i'm proud of the weight i have lost!!

don't beat yourself up about your gains, loosing weight and keeping it off is a steep learning curve, nobody ever gets anything right the first time around ( unless they are lucky *kitten*!!haha ) keep going you can do this!!!
