Advice on scales ... again.

I know I have seen this thread plenty of times, but would like to ask this again in case there is some new information or a top product out there you may have advice on.

I officially think my scale is kaput. My scale read that I lost 9 lbs in two weeks of precise dieting and hard exercise. Now, I know a good portion of that was water weight, etc. That being said, I was not going to be surprised if I barely lost anything this week or didn't lose any at all. Instead, it said I gained 10 lbs from my last weigh in which was 6 days ago. Impossible.

I currently have an old, 1970s yellow, rusty, dusty spring scale. I used a few of my free weights on the scale to test the accuracy and it is accurate up to 30lbs as far as I can see, but I have a feeling an the error steps in when there are heavier compression of the springs.

Any advice would be valuable.

Thanks!
