Working out with vertigo

I've just been diagnosed with vertigo and would really appreciate some tips for working out with vertigo. I love to go for long, hard (for me) bike rides, usually on my own, but am scared of having an attack and falling off.

I also love rock and roll dancing but that has lots of spinning, which is also pretty rough with vertigo.

Ideally I would like to continue to do both and I have an appointment to talk with my dr about taking my medications as preventative, i.e. having a tablet before I go dancing or cycling, rather than waiting until the symptoms appear, which is how I was initially instructed.

Anyone else out there coping with vertigo and working out? I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks in anticipation.

I get dizzy very easily, likely from my low blood pressure. I am fairly sure I don't have vertigo.

But many times during workouts I find the need to stop and regain myself, or sometimes it gets so bad that I need to sit down and actually feel the floor, feel the ground under me to start getting back and better. This happens quickly, but usually not so quick that I can't take time to stop the treadmill, slow my bike, or get off whatever machine and stand/sit until it passes.

Are you able to realize when the attacks are coming? Or are they instant?
