how do i know when its safe to exercise again? Sunday night i did a leg workout which i havent done before and the next day i was in so much pain... worst part is the next day i started a new job which had my crouching and kneeling and hunching over for 8 hours straight.... it hurt... the next day i could barely walk... its now friday and my legs are still sore but getting better... when can i get back into it.. i really want to start exercising again but i dont want to prolong the pain. Especially with work being so physical. should i have today as a rest day (i dont have to work) and then get back into tomorrow?

I'd say go do some gentle exercise today. The best thing for sore muscles (after a short period of rest) is to use them again.

Good luck with the new job

Definitely get out and do a moderate walk with them. Stretch really good too. Whenever I do something that I discover is too much I always "over" walk the next day...meaning I exaggerate each step while walking to stretch out those muscles. If they rest too much they will become stiff and then you really run the risk of injury. Good luck!!

When you start exercising again, start slowly and work up! A little soreness is to be expected, but don't hurt yourself!

I've found that a light workout is the best thing for sore muscles, after a day of rest.
