So i used to do kickboxing about 3 years ago. since then i have moved to pa and they have no gyms similiar to what i used to do. now there is a community boxing gym down the street from my house. there are coaches who will be training me up until i get to the "ring"...lol....i wanna do it but im kinda scared...is it a really good form of exercise for woman? would it help me lose the 40 i need to?

darn was thinking of left overs from a restaurant.

were you not scared when you first tried kickboxing?

imagine yourself 6 months from now....gaining 5+ months of experience at the gym.... you've already gotten over your nerves, you feel like you belong there...in that environment and with that crowd....

    I say go for it.

Boxing circuits are unbelievably good for fat burning and fitness go for it. You will be buff in no time. You never know you might want to do a bit of sparring all part of the fun I recon. Im a girly girl and Id go for it. x

Anything that gets you moving your butt rather than parking it on the couch in front of the tube is good exercise!

I enjoyed kick-boxing at least the workouts, really built my range of motion to the point that my sparring buddies from older times didn't want to spar anymore as I could kick head height instead of waist.... man that was ages ago!

Do what will get you moving, I've had a gym membership gathering dust because they don't have a pool and that's what I want to do to work out and get moving.

I just finished a kickboxing program (6 months) with a trainer at my gym.... now that's not all I've been doing, but I've lost 83 pounds in less than 10 months. It's great exercise, a great calorie burner! and it's so fun! now that it's over, I want to buy a wavemaster bag and put it in my basement - I realized I miss kicking!!

Hi! I go to a title boxing club where we punch/kick bags and then you can do personal training where you are sparring w/the trainer. I LOVE IT! I don't know about your particular gym, but I would definitely try it out. I have lost 60 pounds since Febuary and went from a size 22/24 to a size 16 about to be 14...you can check out my story in the link in my signature. I think it is an excellent full body workout...Good luck!

thanks guys...i guess what kind of pushing me away is that its a community boxing gym so the equipment like treadmills and things are really old and kind of look like they will be falling part any time soon...lol...so that pushed me away a lil but what the coach told me is that as soon as i get in they will tell me to run for a few then they practice the punches and stances with me and teach me the correct form and things like that so im just confused.
