I just need to chat with some folks right now...to keep from going insane. Today was going to be good, but other people just have a habit of, intentionally or not, bringing you down when you're FINALLY doing well. -__- Sooo, what it do, people of MFP?

  • You shouldn't let anyone bring you down, don't give them permission to. Hold your head up high, you're on the right path!

Thanks! ^_^ It just seems like when you finally start getting your life together, and have good things happen other people don't...then they act very down about it. I can do the best I can to help them, but it's up to them if they want to move forward, take charge, and make life work. I'll just wait out this funk that I'm now in; I'm doing what needs to be done. :)

Well, I've been struggling with an ED(eating disorder) for some time, and it got really bad. I started recovery halfway through the summer, but I was still struggling so much. I've been in a relationship that always seemed...off for about 4 years.(since I was 14!!!) I realized about a month or so ago that it was never really something for me....I used the relationship as a crutch/excuse for so long. Why get better or love myself when i had someone to do it for me? I recognized this as unhealthy(and unfair to him) and I broke it off. Since then, I've been doing great with recovery. I'm taking care of and learning to love myself and also dealing with emotions somewhat properly for the first time in my life. I feel like I'm more of a person then I've ever been before...free.

But, now my ex is really upset and kinda acts like an *kitten* about stuff. I told him that u may start seeing someone(probably not serious) and how I'm just taking my time and not rushing anything. He basically said that if the guy plays his cards right he'll get whatever he wants...like I'm just going out and looking for a replacement and that this guys just wants sex. Considering the massive amount of insecurities I'm working through, this is just lovely to hear...among other things.

Also, a good friend of mine of CONSTANTLY being emo/depressed about everything. He complains about school/work/relationships more than he actually tries to go about fixing things. I can't make the decision for him to get better or to do what needs to be done. If i had given in to Ed every time I felt lonely or ****ty or useless, I probably wouldn't be here right now. He's also probably irritated that i may be seeing someone. I agreed to go on a date with him once(which never happened, btw) and he instantly started acting like we were already together. Like touching, getting too close, hand-grabbing, spending every single free moment with me(or trying to). Basically waaaaay too much. So that was a big NO. But yeah, he lets everything get to him and bring him down all the time. I can't be around people like that...sorry, man.

Wow, that was a lot that i had to say. It was nice to let it all out, though. Comments? Questions? Anyone else have a similar story/problem? Open talk here, people

I think of it more like a disruptive spirit of some kind. It wakes me up usually by making noise, like a crash or a loud growl. Yes, I check if anything has fallen over etc.
A few times it has spoken to me in words or said my name, and once my cat's name, but mostly it seem to like to make noises that startle me awake.
I've tried: telling it this is my house, get out, burning white sage, and the placing of mirrors to confuse it. I've also tried reciting the Lord's prayer aloud.
    I'm not afraid, just annoyed.
