I'm 26 years old, 5' 7" and I have been struggling with gaining weight ever since I went to nursing school. I was at my goal weight of 135lbs before going to nursing school and now it has been an ongoing struggle to get back down to where I was.

I was always rather skinny as a teen but once I hit 21 yrs old I started putting on weight. I put on even more weight when I went to undergraduate college due to not taking the time for myself to stay in shape. Once I graduated from undergrad I was dedicated to feeling better about myself and lost 32lbs from taking Zumba 3 days a week and running with a friend. However, I then decided to go to graduate school for nursing and put most of the weight back on.

I am back to being horribly discouraged about myself, and it has gotten to the point that I hate looking in the mirror and trying to find anything to wear.

Trying to turn things around and love myself again! Hoping having a support system helps!

Welcome to MFP! I feel your pain as I work in health care too and running an mri is very sedentary. For me getting into a weight loss challenge has been key to getting me started. I'm very competetive so it was a perfect scenario to get me motivated enough to follow through. That and twins that are 6 and a 4 year old who all need me to be healthy and active.
