Polar FT7 (HRM) da Question..

If I stay on treadmill one hour in the past I would burn 500 calories, now same hour I'm only getting about 300 calories burned this is a huge difference. I was 211lbs and now 187 lbs. DO the smaller you get, the harder it is to burn off the calories? It appears so but I'm new and just not sure. Any advice please? Thanks, PD

Was the 500 calories burned measured with the HRM?0

This is the first question... and yep, you burn less calories the lighter you get. Make sure to keep your current weight updated on your HRM for the best accuracy.0 -
your HRM will be more accurate than the machines at the gym. My FT7 synchs up with the machines at the gym. does yours?0

I notice everytime I change my weight I don't burn as much I was before. I think it's because you're becoming more fit and don't exert the same amount of energy doing the same exercise. Don't quote me though!0

The more fit you become, the more efficient your body becomes.
It will not work as hard to get the same workout in. Hence, lower heart rate. Lower heart rate = less calories burned on the HRM.0 -
My best bet is that is likely the case.......I took a Body Attack class when I was first getting into using my Heart Rate Monitor, and getting more fit, and burned 715 calories (according to the Polar FT4) during the first class that I wore it. That stayed consistent over a number of months, but now, I'll take the exact same class, and I'll burn 450 - 500. The more fit you become, the lower your heart rate, thus, a lessened number of calories burned by your metabolism.0

No gym all my exercising is at work, except for weekend then I just walk...0 -
The lighter you become, the less calories you will burn. That is when you need to rev up the intensity of the workout or do it longer.0

What he said, and yes, it sucks that it works this way. I've been noticing with my training....0 -
Time to change the incline Your body becomes more efficient the more you do something. Less weight=less calories burned. And yes, it sucks!:flowerforyou:0
