Not what you should eat....it's what you shouldnt eat.

I ditched the grains and sugar. Flat stomach even after having 4 big babies.

For me, it's lower carbs. As a runner, that doesn't always work for me since I need carbs when I run longer distances. Eggs, chicken, seafood, etc - all zero carbs. You still need carbs (from veggies). Try to avoid it from breads, and pasta. Look up the paleo diet.
  • If it dosen't come from the ground or don't have a mother, dont eat it!!!

Ugh stupid censor. Ok where the stars are it says b!tch but obviously with an i instead of an ! xx
  • I don't cut out carbs because I find it unsustainable in the long term. I live yogurt, popcorn, and cheesecake. These things are primarily carbs and I'm not willing to give them up forever so I find it silly to do something that would be a temporary fix for me. So...I eat whole grains and make treats myself so that they are healthier.

Healthy fats, while grains, lean protein. Carbs aren't the enemy....well no enemy of mine.

I agree with love4fitness4! There is no reason to cut something out completely if you are unable to continue life long. If I know I have to be in a bathing suit or tight dress, I cut out foods that increase bloat or gassy-ness. No broccoli, no carbonated drinks. Some fatty fish and a good run is always great right before I am expected to look my best.

I guess I dont understand why it's so difficult to cut out bread and pasta, for example as these are bloating foods (for me) and cause many other health concerns.

Now mind you, I love bread like I love my baby and I could eat it everyday all day (and I did)...but after cutting it out and realizing how good I feel and look, it's worth it. Will I never eat bread again? Of course not, I'll be scarfing down an Ikea cinnamon roll on my birthday (or maybe 2 lol)...but is it part of my daily diet? No ma'am. People don't eat filet mignon everyday generally for financial reasons, and it's normally for special occasions or just to treat themselves....that's how breads are to me....rare and special.

for me, a day with no breads (because i don't care for them that much anyway) would still put me at about 45-55% carbs. I just love carby things. I don't eat meat so beans, yogurt, cottage cheese, vegetables, etc...are all a huge part of my diet and they contain carbs.

Nothing you eat or do will cause you to get a flat stomach by itself. You can't spot reduce fat, choose where to lose it from by eating/not eating different things.

Just reduce your overall fat and it will eventually come off the stomach.

I agree with that... "Being fat is your fault. Where you are fat is not."

I carry my weight in my hips and legs...and my stomach is naturally just flatter, but before changing my diet and having a third of a dozen kids, my stomach needed a major overhaul and cutting out certain foods did the trick. I lose weight in my middle first (bottom half last) and the bloating is gone, which the bloating causes you to feel big in the mid section. So even if the fat loss isn't as fast as one would like, you'll still feel better and thinner eating different foods

Yeah, then a non-meat, not-big-on-eating-bread eater would rely more on carbs, and not so much the terrible ones coming from the other items listed. I doubt i'd have bloating eating those foods, minus the beans. I just dont care for dairy or vegetables too much lol

You need to reduce your BFP to get a flat stomach. Eating a healthy diet is a good start but you also should include things like running and/or jogging into your lifestyle.
