Seems to be the trick...

I have "fallen off the wagon" over the past couple of weeks...I start out really well and then before you know it, someone has brought treats to work, or there is soccer and no time to cook or someone says "lets get some ice cream"...I mean seriously how can I refuse ice cream!
I have been going through the boards and I know it's true, sometimes you just have to be smacked in the face with it over and over again...Follow the plan and don't cheat!!!

It really is a simple cure to fatness, why does it have to be so hard to follow!

you can do it. one thing i do to keep going is if i want icecream i will have a serving size of it. as long as your calories allow it have what you want it makes it easier to stick too.

    good luck to you

You can do it. The temptations and the challenges are all apart of the journey. But figuring out a way to deal with these things and realising that a snack every now and then is normal is trickier than anything else. I always find when things get rough, I look at how far I have come and how much my life has changed. Keep your chin up!

Your journey is going to be long and tough if you deny yourself everything. The trick is eat what you want in moderation. One cookie won't kill you, but before you stuff it in your mouth, think....how long will I have to work out to burn off those calories. It's not easy at first, but after while I found that I have worked too hard to burn off those calories and that brief pleasure that sugar high will give me just wasn't worth it!

Make healthier choices in your daily life and plan ahead. This is a life changer, not just a temporary fix. Challenge yourself-you CAN do it!

I think we all need to have a treat once in a while. But will power must be used all the time. When I was on vacation, it was almost impossible to eat like I wanted to. Pizza, hamburgers, etc. were the norm. I had to really use portion control and exercise a lot to keep myself from going over, so that is what I did.
I did treat myself to Baskin Robins once, but I had a frozen yogurt instead of ice cream and kept it to one scoop. So part of the solution is try to find a tasty alternative to the treats.

It is hard sometimes not to grab the cookies or think, "One little candy bar won't hurt, right?". YES, it will. Because one will turn into two and so on:( I have found that by experimenting with different snacks every day, I can keep myself from grabbing those cookies. Example: cut up an apple into wedges and put them in a ziploc baggie with 1 tsp of McCormick Cinnamon Sugar and shake...viola! Cinnamon apples and they are only about 45 calories! So enjoy and go be creative!

I was also faced with a nice box of Dunkin Donuts this past Thursday during a seminar at work. The woman I was sitting next to and I got out of our seats during a break to see what could be hiding in the box. She asked me, "Do you want to share one?" I replied, "Nope. I just wanted to see and smell, not touch. I'm saving my calories. It's too early in the day to tell what I'm going to want later. I've eaten breakfast, and since I'm going out for lunch it's better I don't right now. Plus, I'm cutting way back on my sugar intake." Ok. So that was a long and drawn out response, but it was worth it. I ate Panda Express for lunch, and did well the rest of the day. I shared that story with my sister, and she was proud of me. I was too. I have so many times before gone to work, seen the goodies, put one in my mouth, and didn't realize it until after I had swallowed that I promised myself I wasn't doing that. I'm trying to be CONSCIOUS and PRESENT in the moment.

Also, as silly as it may sound, I picture those donuts stuck to my thigh. Now how freakin sexy is that picture? Lately, I will picture more waves and jiggles and cottage cheese looking skin, and I slow my roll!
