Hello all,
I am new to the site and I was wondering how often do you all weigh yourselves? I read one post about the morning being the best time of day to weigh yourself, but how often?

have a designated weigh-in day once a week. i weigh myself either every-other day, or whenever i feel good, AND on friday weigh-ins in the morning before i eat or drink. weight flunctuates like crazy so its hard to be accurate0

Once a week in the morning... is what I tell myself to do, but I find myself weighing in every single morning, which I do not recommend, because the fluctuations can get you down.0

I weigh every single morning of my life but only log when it's consistently over a 2 lbs change. I find a 2 lbs up or down to be normal from day to day ( a goal of 120lbs can be 118 to 122lbs)
Good luck! This is a wonderful tool and you will find amazing support on your journey!0 -
I only weigh and measure once a week on Saturday (any day will do... Saturday is easy for me).....1st thing in the morning before eating and after the bathroom :-). Scale weight can fluctuate so much each day that it can drive you crazy, so I don't even step on the scale during the week.
And don't forget.... even if the scale doesn't move.... make sure you measure. The week I didn't lose any lbs. (according to my scale).... I still lost inches.
Good luck!0 -
I weigh myself every day and to be honost i dont see much of a fluctuation some times half a pound or so but not much. I feel like i need to weigh myself every day because it keeps me on track. It doesnt discourage me if i see myself staying the same or if i see a slight gain it just makes me want to work harder to break it.0

Thx everybody! I don't think I could do everyday. That would drive me bananas:noway:0

I weigh myself once a month. I'm tracking my body fat percentage/pounds of fat and inches loss.0

I weigh myself everyday! I know most people probably don't, but since I don't really eat healthy - just counting my calories, I want to make sure that the weight is going down!0

I weigh in the morning. Daily usually unless I already had breakfast. I don't know why. ha0

Leslie... that is good advice. I havene't measured yet. Just doing lbs. But after reading this I think I will change that. I did notice a pair of pants fit better over my rear end today when I put them on, not as snug. yay0 -
I weigh everyday. I know its not recommended. I do it because when I gain I can look back at what I ate in the last day or 2 and see why I gained. This helps me a lot. If I waited all week I could easily gain 10 pounds and not notice. And for me it does not matter about my calories. I have had my calories be under goal and I still gained weight and calories be over and lost weight. For my body WHAT I eat has a huge impact.0

I weigh everyday so I can stay mentally focused throughout the day for what I'm working for.0

Ummm I weigh myself like 10 times a day. I definitely don't suggest it. I'm like addicted.... I think ideal would be weekly.0

Right now I'm weighing every day, first thing in the morning, but I only enter my weight on here when I see a full pound lost (my scale works in 0.5 lb increments). But I think once I get past my first 10 or 15 lbs lost, I'm going to switch to once a week.
If you choose to weigh every day, though, it's really important to remember that weight naturally fluctuates 1-2 lbs, so if you see a loss one day, and then you're one lb higher the next day, don't get discouraged, it's normal.0 -
I weigh myself once a week on Wednesday. I make sure to weigh in the morning right after I wake up and have gone to the bathroom and before I eat my breakfast. I think that helps make it pretty consistant and keeps me from harping on those little fluctuations that may happen from day-to-day. Good luck on your weight Loss journey and welcome to MFP!0
