I love Kettlebells, they are compact and take up very little space and are reasonable in price. A basic workout only takes about 15 to 20 mins. So quick and easy.

My husband's friend likes his resistance bands, many different types of workouts to use with them.

Resistance bands, pull up bar (with ab straps), 3 medicine balls and a foam massage roller. Everything I need and I paid about $150 total (about 94 gbp at current rate).
  • i like my stepper, I watched my shows in the evening and use it, work up a great sweat.
its silent so I can do it after my daughter is in bed, or in the morning while everyone is sleeping. It slides under my bed so it doesn't take up room, and its a lot cheaper than getting a treadmill.
this was the one i got

  • I'd get a ton of DVDs, a medicine ball, yoga mat and set of weights.

I want an elliptical, that way I could switch up the treadmill for the elliptical
  • my favorite exercise machine at home is the treadmill.. I had it for years though and just started using it finally.. I have collected several pieces of equipment over the years but i have hardly ever used them.. Now that I joined MFP i plan to slowely incorporate them into my routine... .

If you have 150 to spend, I would absolutely recommend buying Turbo Fire and getting a resistance band + lower body band. :) Best in home workout everrrrr. <3

Get some hand weights and dvds. My favorite dvds are the Jillian ones cuz they're short and to the point. You can get a good workout in less than 30 minutes which means you can fit it into your schedule. I like the 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30 and they only run about $10. I use 5lb weights with them. I also try to incorporate running 2-3x a week along with doing the dvds 5x a week.

We have an exercise ball that we enjoy sitting on and doing ab work sometimes. I only paid 3 or 4 dollars for it. :)

seriously I would invest in some great shoes and spend the rest on dvds or Heartrate monitor:) Have fun getting fit!
  • This is a little over 150 pounds (about 300 US dollars) but I love my Bowflex Selectech weights. I use them with ChaLEAN Extreme workout videos. It's mainly strength training but also comes with some cardio videos. LOVE it.

couple of pairs of dumbbells. you can do so much w/ them and they are cheap. otherwise i hit the gym (LA Fitness). :flowerforyou:
  • I love my "gym in a bag" kit.

Kettlebell, £20 + depends on weight.
    Ab wheel, £4.99
Skipping rope £1.50 (tescos are great)
    Resistance band. £5.99

On top of that I have a Tesco HRM watch/chest strap (does what I need it to do) £20 and a pair of decent nike's.

Leaves you a few quid for some other bits n bobs.

Hi hun! I was thinking on a weight hip band, as seen on the 10 minutes solution dance your body thin solution, that way it won't take too much space, I also have tiny dumbbells of 1lbs each, that way I make sure my arms won't grow too bulky.

    Regarding workouts mine are:

Hannah Waterman Body Blitz... that one REALLY works, it's got three workouts: cardio, toning and boxing, and a cool down session of 10 mins of abs and stretching.

10 minutes solution Blast off your belly fat with Suzanne, that one also does wonders with my hanging post-pregnancy tummy. It has 5 workouts of 10 mins each, great as I never know when will the baby wake up, so I start with the intense ones, and if I have more time I do the whole lot.

10 minutes solution Dance your body thin with Andrea Leigh, it has 5 workouts as all 10 mins solution, so I do the same, also this one is more entertaining and you learn to control your hips, dance them a little bit, and it has cardio workouts. And also uses the dumbbells for more definition.

And lately I bought the Tracy Anderson Method Cardio dance, It's a pain to have to learn the choreography first, so I haven't started using it as such, but I've been researching on youtube, and I've been doing her mat workout online, and it's great... you really feel like you're working. Also found two cardio workouts online of this same woman which are easier to follow than her dvd. But all reviews say the same.. tough to learn the moves and dances but it has great results, and you can tell that she doesn't look bulky or masculine at all, so her method of getting you slim and lean really works, otherwise she wouldn't look as slim and slender as she does.

For this christmas I'm asking for a speedometer, to calculate my speed when I walk, I may ask as well for a HRM, I believe that's how they're called, the ones that count the heart rate monitor and calculates your calories. And might be for that hip weight so when I do dance I burn more calories with resistance :D
