I started the 30 day shred this week with a friend and we know its important to not only weigh ourselves at the beginning of this, but also to measure. We measured our waists, chest and hips. My question is how to know exactly where to measure on your body in these areas? If I moved the measuring strip down a little I had totally different numbers around my hips and waist. So not sure where exactly is the right spot. Is there a way to know?

Try and find something distinctive on your body that you might be able to recall later. Perhaps a mole, part of a tattoo, or x amount of inches below or above your bellybutton. It probably won't ever be exact, but just get as close as you can :)

I never could figure out exactly what people meant by stomach, waist, hips so when I measure I just make sure to get the same spot on my body each time and call it the same thing.

You MUST measure when doing the Shred. The first time I did it, I only lost 1.3 kgs, but I lost 16.5 cm all round (5.5 from waist). I actually measure my waist as the smallest part in the curve (probably just below the ribs) and I also weigh my tummy over the fattest part, and then I also measure around my hips right over the hip bones and bum. I try for the fattest point there. I would also recommend measuring your arms (at mid point / bicep) and thighs (at fattest point). You'll lose inches there too.

I really like the idea of looking for a marking / freckle or mole or something that can help keep it in the same place. I'll definitely try that from now on.
