Any other Night Shifters out there?

I work nights, mostly a late swing shift but sometimes a graveyard or two. For those working nights, you know it's hard to follow the general rules for dieting and eating right. You hear on the news all the time about how we should all stop eating at 8pm. Well, that would work out great if I didn't just start my shift at 5pm, and am going to be up until at leas 5am. So .... I'm writing this to see if there are any other shift workers out there with funky hours?
I think we could all use each others motivation to help us with those late night cravings. And, if there are dispatchers out there I haven't come across yet ... add me so we can help each other avoid those slow moments, the adrenaline rushes that drain us and send us scrounging for chocolate and sugar, and help each other power through the urge to eat something off that plate of baked goods (or halloween candy bowl) that someone brought in?!

  • hey i'm a night shifter too. and this is the shift that caused me to gain so much weight in the first place. I dont always get much time to eat at work but i dont like too cuz i feel my brain is still working on daylight hours and i try not to eat after supper. but i dont get enought sleep either and i sleep for a few hours in the am and a few hours if i can, at 7pm. i'm still trying to figure out when its good to eat and not. (and of course the doctor isnt any help. he's skinny)

I'm a fellow night-shifter (not to be confused with shape- shifter) lol. I don't really struggle anymore with binging when working the night shift. I just make sure to write up my food diary before going to work at 11pm and taking all my food from home so I am not tempted to eat at work. I also make sure that I eat about 3 hours when at work. :)
