Hi, I have recently bought a cappuccino machine and am loving my skinny cappuccinos! Does anyone know how many calories are acutally in coffee? Are the calories only in the milk when you have a cappuccino? Ive tried googling but seem to get conflicting information. Any help would be good...thanks!

  • Well, a latte would be just the milk. Cappicino(sp?) are there sugar and flavor added? The coffee is next to free it is all the other stuff we add to it. Hope this helps.

After checking recipes.com I guess it is the milk in there but if there is sugar and flavoring same goes.

The amount of calories in coffee itself is minimal (something like 9 per cup if I remember correctly).

It is the milk, sugar or whatever else you put in it is where the calories are.

On MFP you can find it listed as anywhere from 0 to 9 calories per cup.... I go with one at 9 and the next one or two at zero....

Thanks heaps ...I have skim milk and no sugar so I'm thinking I'll only need to count the calories in the amount of milk that I have in my coffee. Thanks again, Kym.

Coffee black has zero calories. It's only milk, cream and/or sugar that you add that has the calories.

(I looked it up on www.timhortons.com, Canada's largest coffee chain).

I have my "frappes" down to about 45 cals! If you use any syrups, Torani is the best, sugar free = zero cals! I do use "real" cream though, that's where the cals come in ( try to get the half & half stuff) . That powdered stuff is gross... :drinker:

It depends on how you brew your coffee, the more diluted/lower heat the less calories. But the amount even at it's most is a measly 9 calories, I count mine as 2 and log the calories from my half n half and sugar.
