The last 2 days i have had a hard time eating back the calories i have burnt from doing a lot of walking. Because i have been on outings that involved lots of walking i burned so much calories that i have been left with so much extra calories, it is impossible for me to eat back all the excersise calories and be at least 500 calories under, it has been leaving me with close to and over 1000. Any help on this topic would be appreciated, thank you

Not everybody eats back thier exercise calories.
I dnt eat mine back at all.
Its different for everybdoy.
Try eating more fruits or veggies thru out the day for little snacks.0 -
I guess I don't understand how people have a hard time eating back exercise calories....the majority of us found this site because at one time, we had absolutely NO problem of eating enough calories in a day. ;o) A quick way to get in some good calories is to eat peanut butter....add it to apple slices, bread, whatever floats your boat. Nice, calorie dense food that is also decent for you!0

Thank you, i just worry because i have read you should try to stay 500 calories or less under for the day and i havent been able to do that the last couple days0

If you're hungry then eat back some or all, but it's is not something you must do. I'm doing fine with weight loss using this method.0

You're going to see alot of different thoughts on this subject. Personally some days I eat the calories back other days i don't. If I find that I'm constantly hungry I will, but I don't believe in forcing myself to eat just because MFP says I have extra cals left. You have to do what works and feels right for you.0

That is some great information, i was worried but i guess i wont focus on it so much, i will eat back if im hungry. Thanks so much for the info0

Same as what Billy Bob said above....I hardly ever eat them back (because that's how you lose weight) But if I'm still hungry because I have worked out so hard, I will definitely eat some back.0

Most of us are here because we ate too many calorie dense foods that were also low in nutrients. Big Macs, Cheesecake, Candy, Ice Cream, etc. When we eat better foods, the calories go down, but the volume of food goes up! Then we have to learn to find healthy ways to get more calories in without feeling overstuffed (by the volume) or succumbing to crap food all of the time. Like you said, the trick is "Nice, calorie dense food that is also decent for you." Not all of us are skilled at that.0 -

If this is something that happens from time to time I wouldn't worry about it unless you are hungry...trail mix fruit and nuts are a great way to add calories in a pretty healthy way...
If this is becoming a frequent thing then it is time to eat a whole portion of food or add a piece of cheese or choose a higher calorie cereal etc.0 -
Not everyone does this. If you are NOT hungry, why force yourself to eat these? I never do....0

I personally don't worry about eating back all my exercise calories. Most days I have a hard time eating back any of them. Since starting MFP I have totally changed the way I eat so I get FULL on less calories now. I say as long as your not hungry and your body is okay with you not eating them back dont over stuff yourself.0
