What's Your Game Plan?

When I first started out in training, I really did not have a clue really - on what I should do to be effective to get to my goals.
I can't tell you how many times I would get to the gym, get on the tread for 5 minutes and hate it. Go over to the weight training machines and try to figure out what to do and not look stupid or like I did not know what I was doing.
Bottom line was that I just decided to become a trainer and learn as much as I could to have a "game plan" towards my goals.
I have to share that if you don't have a game plan which also includes a food plan to back it up, eventually one will become discouraged.
There is so much information out there in magazines, on t.v., on the internet relative to gymics and fads to get you in but not really teach you anything. Most of them sell you a fantasy. Especially the ones that tell you if you do this AB BLAST routine, your stomach can look like this too! But they fail to really let you know that your nutrition is about up to 80% of what you are trying to achieve.
Most people have more willingness to execute a fitness DVD or go to the gym for a class, but when you talk about their food, WATCH OUT! The daggers come.
How many clients that would come into the gym I worked at who would not purchase at least 2 sessions to get a game plan which included nutritional suggestions, to only come in for 45 minute "bust your butt" cardio - 5 days a week and then check their composition and find out they gained FAT!!! Why, because it always boils down to negociating your food and bargaining with it.
Do you have a game plan? Do you know what foods set you up for max fat gain? Do you know what fitness routine will compliment your body type and frame, or will it just make you thicker looking? Do you know the best time to train for max fat loss and healthy lean mass gains to excellerate your body's ability to burn even more fat? Do you know what healthy supplements to take to support your training routine and your energy levels? Do you know what ratio's on protein, carbs, and fats are the best for your situation and your goals? Do you really know what caloric intake you should stick with to add to your fat loss plan? Do you have a flexibility program to reduce injuries and keep your muscles more flexible?
These are all the questions that really need to be asked in order to truly develop a sure fit on a "game plan" for your goals.
If you don't know these answers, then I urge you to get them.
It's like when you join a gym and you figure you can figure everything out and you don't need a trainer because all they want to do is sell you training sessions. Well there are some trainers who just think of themselves, but the ones who truly want to design a program specifically for you and educate you so you can become indepdendent without having to always depend upon at trainer - that is a trainer you want to invest in.
When you go to college and pay tuition, they don't just give you the books and say see ya in 4 years. Hope you graduate. NO, you have to go to classes and learn what it is that you are trying to accomplish. It's the same with your body and your game plan.
Invest in yourself and learn what it is that will work for you.
I chose to do that and who would have considered that I could have ended up in a healthier way of living let alone helping others to achieve the same.
So, think about what is your "game plan" and consider the questions above by taking an inventory on which answers you do have and the ones that you don't have, find them to help you get where it is you deserve to be.
