Its all about the little changes

I started last week and really got a feel for calories (in the past I have watched what I ate according to WW points) I realize I prefer the "old school" way which involved actual calories and looking at what you are eating. Anyway, one of the best features of this site you can actually see where you are lacking in nutrition. When I started last week I brought my normal whole wheat bread, its good for you since its whole wheat! Well 1 piece was 120 calories (but the bread is sooo good) , the new bread I found this mornig was 45 calories! I did the same thing with a few other of my normal daily foods. Hmmm.. now I need to figure out what I can eat since I have all thse extra calories! Oh well just wanted to share that you don't need to make major changes all at once, tweek your diet just a little each week! My tweeks this week dropped me 7 pounds (but I went cold turkey on wine which I found was an extra 2000 calories a week for me!) so I cannot wait for what this week has in store for me.

Good for you! Something that was suggested to me was to buy a scale to measure my food. When you do, you will see that the "1/2 cup serving" of oatmeal that weighs 40 gms actually is a LOT less! Best to measure your food by weight! I do both ways when I'm lazy or just measuring fruit or veggies. And let me tell you,I've given up bread 90% of the time and I MISS it DEARLY! Just would rather eat more food!0
