Kinda like beef stroganoff recipe
My boyfriend cooked this for us tonight and it was awesomely delicious!
1.5 pounds lean beef- in strips or chunks (he used a london broil cut up)
1 large onion - diced
6 ounces white mushrooms - diced large
2 portobello mushroom caps - diced large
3 cups beef broth
1.5 ounces by weight - flour
16 ounce bag of frozen peas
12 ounce bag of yolk-free noodles
light sour cream (if you like)
Spray a deep frying pan with cooking spray. Add the meat & onions and cook til brown. Pour the beef broth over the mean/onion mixture and simmer for an hour until the meat is nice and tender. In a separate bowl, mix your flour with some water to make a paste, then slowly add to your beef broth to thicken it. When it's nice and thick and hot, turn the heat down and add the frozen peas.
While the beef mixture is simmering, follow the directions on your noodles and cook them. When they are done, add them to your meat mixture - toss, and serve with a dollop of light sour cream on top if you like.
Makes 8 big servings.
The nutrition information for one bowl of what we had tonight was:
361 calories
fat 4 g
sat fat 1 g
protein 33
chol 57
sodium 168
sugar 6
fiber 5
carbs 45
the light sour cream on top would add an additional 40 calories and 3 g fat
