So again, I went over my calories. :frown: This is the 2nd time this week. I was doing so well before.

I made shepherd's pie with ground turkey for supper and it brought me over like 800 and something calories. I know we're not supposed to dwell on the #'s, but I feel guilty.

I was starving and only had 300 and something calories left after eating my other half of my D'angelos sub for lunch.

Trying to find a meal for tonight was so bad, I sat here for 30 minutes looking in the recipes for something, but nothing was quick and low cal (I did however, pick up the ingredients for that salsa slow cooker chicken for tomorrow's supper). I caught sight of shepherd's pie somewhere, but passed it since DH doesn't like SP. Well DH decided to go out to the movies with BIL, so I got the stuff for how I usually make it, I don't bake it, I just put the potatoes on the bottom, mix in some corn and peas, and pile the ground beef (or in this case, turkey) on top.

I was starving and couldn't skip supper. I have about 2 cups on my plate and it's over 1000 calories.

Why were you so hungry? Are you eating regularly throughout the day?

    Thanks DustDevil.

No, I had only had a power bar for breakfast, that's 250 calories.

I had 1/2 of my sub from last night for lunch, I had a lot of calories yesterday because it was a workout day, so I thought I could get a large, but I after adding the toppings and stuff on here, I would've gone over, so I ate half last night and half today for lunch, but that 1/2 of a sub was over 900 calories. So I ate 2 things all day before having dinner.

BTW, I love your avi, I kept pet rats for 9 years. Are you a member of RR forums?

Thanks! I have 3. Two black hooded boys that are 6 months and a 6 week old baby dumbo rex. The baby (his name is Baby LOL) is the snuggliest, lickiest ratty ever! I love him to death and he always sits with me while I'm on the computer.
I'm on ratforum.com, not sure if that's the same thing. I don't post very often because I have no camera for cute pix!

Anywho, back to the food lol...
I think after today it would be a good idea to evaluate your calories and start planning meals. If you're at 1200, try 1400 and see if you feel any better. There's no reason to be starving all the time, and you'll still be in at least a 300 calorie deficit. Then you will have room to drop your calories if you plateau, which will happen eventually, and will suck a lot if you're already at 1200 calories--there will be nowhere else to go.
As far as planning, you can still go out to eat, but check online for menus first. If there isn't a menu, get something small and clean when you go out. No mayo, nothing breaded, no cheese, etc., and eat half. Then when you get home you can plug in what you ate, at least by an estimate. When you get really good at it you can pretty much go anywhere and eat a meal for under 600 calories without checking the menu before.

dont get too discouraged. work out tomorrow and plan your whole day of food so you can have an idea what to eat before you are hungry.

if it makes you feel any better, i went over 500 today :( i went to a baby shower and drank 3 cokes! badbadbad. if i hadnt had those id be right on target. i did, however, pass up the urge to pick up chick-fil-a on the way home and opted for lean cuisine instead. that was pretty major for me so i am ok with the extra 500 knowing it could have easily been way more.

    tomorrow IS another day! :flowerforyou:

    Thanks for the advice.

So I just looked and I am not quite as over, though I still am. I accidentally entered the whole can of peas and corn, I didn't eat a whole can of corn, or a whole can of peas, lol, so yeah. I'm still about 600 over though.

I usually do check the menu's online first, but I was at the gym when DH called in the order and I picked it up on my way home, I still had over 1000 calories so I figured a large sub wouldn't hurt, and would help me eat my exercise calories. I got home, entered it first, and realized I could only eat half of it, so I saved the other half for lunch today.

On the other hand, I bought quite a few 100 calories snack packs of things at the store tonight, so tomorrow should be a better day. I even got low fat, whole grain waffles instead of the cheap store brand I usually buy. I will say, buying healthier is DEF more expensive though.

I also already have dinner planned (except for the sides) for tomorrow, I HAD to try that slow cooker salsa chicken in the recipes section, so that's what we're having tomorrow. :glasses:

Aw, so cute, I love rex's, I had a rex dumbo girl named Lily way back when. One of my heart rats was a hairless named Chia, she was so awesome and could free roam during playtime, all I had to do was shake the yogies container and she'd come running back to me.

RR is rats rule forum, I've been a member of there for like 8 years or something, lol. I still go on there even though I don't have rats anymore, because I've gotten to know a few of the members over the years.

Yea, Baby is definitely a heart rat. I make kissy noises when I come home and he comes out of his little house and up to the door of the cage and then I get kisses  My other two are very ratty...I didn't know it when I got them, but they were only about 3 weeks old. I realized recently when I was looking at pics for sexing rats...at 4 weeks it's very obvious who's a boy. These guys were very hard to sex and were super tiny. So they didn't socialize as well, but I still take very good care of them.
