Agree with ICAN 110% chew gum,
My dad quite smoking after 45 years.
He chewed gum so much, that I do not remember a time in the year that he was quiting that he did not have gum in his mouth.
But it worked.
He does not chew as much now. But I am sold.

To be honest with you...I wouldn't really know. I've never smoked before. However, I do know the struggles of quitting. I'm currently trying to get my mother to stop. Its bad for her health per her doctor. She hasn't quit though...and it really upsets me. I love my mother and don't want her to leave me any sooner than she has to. I do know that she's tried chewing gum. However, for her it doesn't work. Maybe it's because she's been smoking for YEARS!
Good Luck,

I used to smoke. I'm glad I quit. Your mom knows it's bad for her. Telling her ONE time that you wish she would quit for such and such reasons is fine. Telling her more than once, just upsets her. If we all did what was good for us, we wouldn't need this site, right?0 -
Great job not smoking!! I've never been a smoker but my mom has been cig free for over two years now and she did it cold turkey!! It is absolutely doable as long as you stay in the right frame of mind. My mom also chewed a lot of gum and straws!! I know it sounds silly but she said that chewing on the straw, while it obviously provides no nicotine, it gives that feeling of having a stick in your mouth.0
