Good Morning,
My friend and I are looking to start a new regimen... we do the gym daily, but find we do the same thing....
we want something that is different daily, and effective. From the infomercials, I noticed that both use cardio and strength at the same time, and also use muscle confusion....
Is one better than the other and which one sucks less time out of your day...??? (the only reason we ask is that we are both very full time PLUS workers, and both commute, and we both have to still be parents and live real life.) We go to the gym at 3am as it is...lol

i dont think that one is better than another because they both work different things on your body and they are both helping you loose the weight that you are looking to loose(:0

Insanity is a shorter workout. I will say that I have done both. I suggest you start with P90x if you are looking to tone up and not looking for a workout that will push your cardio level. Now, if you are looking to burn fat and push your heart to its limit, Insanity is the way to go.
I love them both for different reason...there really isn't a bad one to pick.0 -
Cardio helps you lose weight, but weights help you tone up, so a mixure of both, as everyone will reccomend, will give you the best results. Also, I used to drink a protein shake after my gym workout or before and that gave me a great body in just a month.0

I haven't used either one but I workout at home and daily mix it up. I use Cathy Frederich for cardio and weights then Rodney Ye for yoga. I've found that mixing it up daily along with MFP tracking my food has allowed me to loose weight and tone at the same time. I've even droped 4lbs in a two weeks..which is a safe drop in weight. I also have several small meals thru the day.0

I started with p90x and lost 30 pounds, so it's still a serious fat burner without killing you with cardio. both are very good choices !! I am a coach for the company, so if you have any other questions don't hesitate to contact me!0

Both decent programs, both different. Both will give results. This board has many fans or each program, and a search will pull up many comments.
I personally like P90x Better, as I am not a Shawn T fan, and don't like the high impact stress Insanity puts on my knees.
I also am a big fan of heavy weight lifting for women, to really give you the tight body and tone and curves and weight loss. I have had excellent results with P90x.
This is a pretty good side by side comparison that may help you.

I've done them both. I would like to point out that Insanity also does some strength building, but primarily upper body, because you are doing a lot of push ups. Push up jacks, ski abs, in and out abs, wide in and out abs, etc., all of which work your shoulders and arms. I agree with everyone here, though. Insanity is less time consuming, but it is by far a more intense cardio workout. I got bored with P90X towards the end. Not because it's an ineffective workout, but just because I was tired of Tony Horton. Shaun T does not bore me, and even though I've finished Insanity, I regularly work in the Insanity DVDs into my new routine of Spin, weights, aerobics.0

Awesome!! Thank you everyone for your thoughts.... since we run daily for atleast 2 miles, or more, I think insanity will be the way to go as we need the fat burning effects of the Cardio...
I think this is the way we will go!!
Thanks soooo much!0
