Why do I do this?

I love MFP and have it on my smart phone. I do really well counting my calories until evening, and then for some reason when I see I have a certain amount left, I want to eat MORE!! SOmetimes I log in finished for the day but it's like a psychological thing that makes me wanna eat, eventhough my alloted calories are gone? WHy do I fo this? AM I crazy??Does anyone else do this?

    You are not the only one! I had a horrible time with this. I have a really bad habit of eating lots in the evening after work. I do so well during the day and seem to sabotage myself in the evenings.

    I really try to have a large, healthy supper so I'm full. I always have a large salad with supper and eat that first so I feel fuller faster. I also have a night snack of fruit or peanut butter. I try to keep myself busy in the evenings and always have a glass of water close by to drink if I'm feeling hungry.

    I've found myself doing this before... but I try to remember that is how I got here in the first place.

    I work around it by having "fixed" portion meals.. ie:, if we are having pasta.. I always find myself going back for seconds... but if we are having chicken breasts.. I only make as many chicken breasts as we need, I can't go back for seconds..

    I also found it helps if I try to drink a huge glass of a water right after I eat a portion.

    Yeah, that's a tough cycle to break.

    Eat more whole foods throughout the day, don't save more cals than you need for dinner.

    Eat dinner later.

    Then the kitchen is closed.
