My husband is a chef, he is busy non stop from 10am-10pm and really has no time to eat anything during those hours. He is trying to lose weight and I think a major issue for him is he may have a good healthy breakfast, nothing for lunch and then come home at 10pm eats dinner (which I prepare for him) and on top of his dinner meal gorges himself on more food (chips, corndog, sandwiches). Then goes to bed.

I think he is so starving come 10pm from really not eating all day and moving/standing/working all day that he is famished when he finally relaxes. I thought a go option for him to atleast get some calories/protein mid day would be a protein shake he could just grab out of the fridge and drink. Any good premade ones , that are not junk?

Any other advice/options I can give him?

The myoplex shakes aren't horrible. He should try shakeology.....but that isn't pre-made. just higher quality. it's def not good that he's not eating all day :-(

stay away from slimfast, it's junk

Try making smoothies for him. Blend them up and put them in a thermos. That way you can control what's in them.

I've been drinking the GNC total lean shakes. They're higher in protein and lower in carbs and calories than some of the other stuff. They're not half bad, definitely better cold. I use them for breakfast and a between lunch and dinner snack. I don't get to eating dinner until about 830-9PM, so it helps me not be so starving by that time.

Thanks, he needs something premade, no time to make anything. I thought about making him one to bring but thought it may become watery by the time he drinks it, no??

I understand your premise and you might be correct, but one potential problem that can occur would be: You provide him with a protein shake, he consumes it, by the time he comes home he repeats what he was doing before, and now the problem is worse because he is consuming even MORE calories than before.

The problem is not the late night eating, it is the overconsumption of calories.

If giving him more food (in this case a protein shake) causes him to eat less later at night (resulting in less calories consumed), then you're right on and life is good -- but often times a liquid lunch won't provide much satiety and in the end, you're adding more calories.

I'm not saying this is what will happen, just making mention of it.

Premade...no. I drink Syntrax Fuzzy Navel. I mix night before so it is cold, shake right before I drink it.
