I am losing weight (a stone to go) and toning up.
I am 5ft 6 and currently 135lbs.
What is the optimum % of carbs/protein and fat to help me get there?
I try and eat as clean as possible but seem to go over sometimes on my fats and carbs.

there is no optimum ratio, in fact don't use ratios at all. shoot for a minimum of 1g per lb of lbm of pro and .3g of fats everyday and spread the rest of your cals among proc/cho/fats

    There is no such animal.

Set calories, protein (1g/lb LBM), and don't go to low on EFA (.5g/lb is a good starting point). Fill in the rest with whatever mixture of CHO/PRO/FAT you prefer.

In Jillian Michaels's books she suggests a 40/30/30 (carb/fat/protein) macronutrient ratio.

My trainer told me to go 40c/ 40p /20f for a few weeks.
  • I am on a high carb, low fat and protein regime and it works beautifully for me. To each his/her own, I'm sure, but eating 5-7 times a day keeps me fueled and going strong from daylight to bedtime. I walk 3-5 miles a day, weight train, and have an extremely active lifestyle. Sleep like a baby. Best shape of my life. 5'7" and weigh 115 pounds at age 54. :-)

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Taking fitness advice from Jillian Michaels is like taking medical advice from Hugh Laurie.
