Air popper uses no oil & still pops just fine. You buy separate popcorn seeds for this..... do not attempt to use microwave popcorn in the air popper.

The problem (at least for me) with air popped corn is that it's so dry. I like to use salt, but it does not stick to air popped corn. Spray on "butters" help the salt stick ... but those are not healthy either. Ooooh .... maybe an EVOO mister would work (don't have one).

Popcorn can be microwaved in a paper bag (with or with out oil) .... never tried this ... afraid I might start a fire

I use a mircrowave popcorn bowl (Orville Redenbacher) ... That way I control the amount of oil, and the salt will stick when it's popped

I eat popcorn every day, It's my go to food. I bought a air popper and ended up putting spray butter and salt because it was just too boring. I went back to the Smart Pop low fat microwave popcorn. It's a lot easier. :drinker:

If you're wanting a bigger quantity of popcorn for fewer calories you should try the Newman's Own organic popcorn. It's really yummy without being overly buttery or salty. An entire bag of the regular butter flavor only has 130 calories.

Regular lunch paper bag works. It's a little bit of trial and error.
    1) Put in enough kernals to cover the bottom but not enough that you cant see the bottom. (i eyeball, but it might be the actual serving size anyway) If you overfill, you will end up with more kernals than popcorn, and probably burnt.
    2) Roll the end of the bag 2 or 3 times (small rolls), just enough that the bag will stay closed.
    3) Set your microwave for 4 minutes and just watch it, every microwave is different but it definitly wont take the full 4. Wait until its about 2 seconds between pops and take it out. Treating it like regular microwave popcorn it will burn, waiting too long and it will burn.

It took me about 3 different times to get this right, but its the only way i eat popcorn now. Buy a big bag of kernals (generic way cheaper and i cant tell a difference), add your own toppings. Compared to buying a 6 pk or 12 pk of popcorn, you got at least double that for a fraction of the cost. :flowerforyou:

    Try it out. Good luck
