walking with stroller

The exercise I find for pushing a child in a stroller says it burns 170 calories per hour while walking 3mph for an hour burns 225. I GUARANTEE I am burning more calories walking with a stroller than walking without, so what should I log?

Well I used to pull my two toddlers in a wagon- I did some research and a golf bag is about 30lbs. So I went ahead on logged it as that but changed the name. Obviously two of my boys were heavier than 30lbs but I wanted to estimate low since I don't have a HRM.0

i came to the same conclusion lol. i figured out the mph and logged it under that. lol0

my daughter weighs 28lbs and her pram weighs even more than that. last monday i walked for 30 mins down hill then 35 uphill. i looked at the distance that i'd walked then worked out how fast i must have walked. i logged the exercise as just 'walking at 3.5mph' because that was more calories than just 'pushing a stroller' and i'd worked bloody hard walking up and down that hill! if it was a leisurely stroll round the park then i'd log it as 'pushing a stroller' as i think that's more calorie burning than just 'slow walking'!
i hope that helps, i'm new to this so this is just my view on it!0 -
The golf bag thing sounds perfect, thanks! Between the kiddo and all our gear (why do we need so much stuff just to go to the park? I don't know, but we do!) we're probably over 30lbs as well, but I'll put it as that just to be on the safe side.0

Normally I don't log stroller walks because they're included in my regular activity level, but today we did a LOT of stroller walking at a pretty quick pace because we had an ambitious game plan involving the library, a play date, and a picnic. Even so, I'm only logging half the time we walked since some walking is already accounted for. But I earned those extra calories and I wanna eat them!0
