why do we feel hungry?

so today i reached my 1250 limit (i ate all my earned calories too) but i'm hungry and no it's not because i'm thirsty i drank a lot of water.
The thing is i had most of my calories in the morning and left barely anything for the evening but if i'm having enough calories in my day but isn't the body storing the energy until it's all used?
i ate 150 cals over my limit but i don't feel guilty because i'm not just indulging /... oh no now that i am talking about it i feel kinda guilty.

Im allotted 1700, 310 breakfast, 400-500 lunch, and dinner usually 500-700, snack r two in between, plum, apple, carrot, nuts but just a few. I also add about 500 calories per day for workout. I'm never really hungry and it works pretty well.. Just some suggestions for you..0
