So this is my second weight plateau since starting MFP in June. Every twenty pounds down or so for me I will stay at the same weight flucuating by 5 pounds or so for 6-8 weeks. I stepped on the scale this week after one week off the scale and I gained 9 pounds??????
..
I'm going crazy. I used to eat fast food every day all day. I used to weigh 360 pounds I'm making huge lifestyle changes and my body will not respond the way I need it to right now.

I eat enough calories, I even eat my excercise calories. Do not tell me not to eat my calories people....lol. I'm at 1640 and for my weight and height that's good.

I excercise at least 4-5 weeks, burning 400-600 calories according to my polar hrm.

I'm just flipping out here but someone tell me this is normal......does everyone hit plateuas?

I know weight loss this big is a long *kitten* journey but I'm getting really frustrated.

Thanks for listening.

of course plateaus are normal. And yes everyong goes through them to some degree.

Think about what that 9lbs is though. Do you really think you ate enough calories to put on 9lbs of fat? That's a lot of extra calories. Or is it more likely water/other matter.

Another possibility is it could be close to your TOM. I gained 4 lbs in 2 days because of that. I haven't overeaten and have been exercising so I know it has to be that.

I have had plateaus too. I have lost close to 70lbs and about every 20 to 25 lbs I hit a plateau for awhile and then I start losing again. Don't stress. Just keep eating right, drinking plenty of water and exercising and it should come off again.
