What to do?

Ok so I've been doing the elliptical for like an hour every day for the first 6 months of my weight loss then when I got to school, I reduced my elliptical time to like 3 times a week and run/spin/do zumba on the other days
But some days I REALLY don't want to run. Like today. And I know I can burn more calories in an hour on the elliptical than on the bike or running or whatever
and I know I only have an hour today
but if my body is like used to the elliptical, is this exercise like, not going to count much? Because I know if your body gets used to an exercise it becomes easier and you burn less calories
thoughts?

my suggestion....you aren't going to burn too many calories doing this while you're doing it, but its going to have some major afterburn qualities your body will like....

do six 100 yard sprints. go all out during the sprint, then rest to get your heart rate down so you can go all out during the next sprint. if you feel really inspired, add a bodyweight exercise immediately after each sprint...and then rest before the next interval.

add the sprint training 2-3x per week (not on consecutive days) to what you're doing and let me know if you see any differences in 3 weeks.

make sure you stretch your hamstrings, calves and hips before sprinting.

I have had the same dilemma and I stick with the elliptical on most w/o days because of the high burn rate......seems to be working. :flowerforyou:
