How do you guys feel about tea? Do you count it as water, do you add any calories for it, what do you use to sweeten it, if anything?

I'm curious, just for some talk, as I occasionally drink a bit of hot green tea with some type of flavor like guava or pomegranate or something. I use some raw unfiltered honey to sweeten is (1 teaspoon or 0.5 teaspoon) as I hear that it is pretty good for your allergies.

Well, since tea is mostly water, yes, count it as water. Caffeinated or decaf, it all counts, since the diuretic effect far, fat outweighed by the actual water content in the tea.

I used to have 3 sugars in eat cup of tea...12 cups a day....

Now I'm down to 2 sweeteners, saving myself a good 4-500 calories a day :)

I don't even log it. If you don't put cream or sweetener, it's essentially water.

Earlier I had green tea with a bit of vanilla soy milk in it, it was pretty good that way. =)

I drink herbal decaf teas with nothing in it. I just count it as water.

I like seeing the diff. opinions on it ^-^

I had three cups today, two were green tea with orange rinds and spice, one was green tea with orange. I grabbed the last one by surprise, as I have like 10 flavors, so an orange-y day I guess. I didn't sweeten the first two, but the third I put in a teaspoon of raw unfiltered honey from the farmers market. I count mine as water, even with the caffeine (I'm not sure how much is in green tea though, I should google it.) but I make sure that if I use sweetener like the honey I count those. Or if I put milk in it, which I used to but don't any more.

Good job on cutting back the sugar and extra calories!
