A few different NSV's

Since I started the "Costume changers" halloween challenge on MFP, I've logged ~80 miles (with one week left to go!) over the course of about a month. The scale has dropped about 3 or 4 pounds, which was alot more than it had been in recent weeks, and i feel like im "truely" working out due to this increase in cardio. I have seen my body definately changing -- the overall "big look" has gone away; thanks in part to my shoulders FINALLY decreasing lol. While I still have a ways to go, I am thrilled to say I have only about another 13 pounds to be under 200 ... 13 pounds seems so do-able its scary lol .. but on to the NSV's
1) When i was at the gym the other day, I saw my brother's oldest friend ("oldest" in the sense that they've known eachother since kindergarten and this boy has been in and out of my house ever since I was born) ... we always stop to talk for a few minutes, but this time around, i noticed he was checking out my legs (I thought maybe I had put on two different colored socks or something) .. and it was just.....weird. The vibe i was getting was not the normal vibe I get from this kid ... im not saying that he likes me - mainly for the fact that hes known me my whole life and he knows pretty much everything about me .. but i was getting the feeling that he was "seeing" me in a different light ... i dont know .. its hard to explain. The one other thing I definately noticed was the reactions of all the OTHER guys at the gym .. (when you go to the gym at the same time everyday, you tend to see the same ppl over and over; so I know these guys have seem me there for so long now) .... the ENTIRE row of men on the stationary bikes were watching this whole exchange between myself and my brothers friend ... and i got the "Stare-down" as I had to walk infront of the bikes to get to the weight room! ahhh again, .. it was all just so weird!
2) I went to the mall to buy some new jeans because all of my 16s were falling off of me... I figured I am a size 14 and got a few pairs to try on. Since I'm a stickler for bargains, I went to a few different stores to see the price difference and tried on different sizes. To make a long story short -- in one store I tried on a 14 and 12 in the same type of jeans .. in that store, both of those didnt really fit that well (the 14s were tight and the 12s werent going on .. period!) .. At another store, though, I tried on both a 14 and 12, and BOTH fit pretty much the same way (with the 12s being just a little more snug than the 14s) ... SO I bought both pairs
.. I'll use the 14s now as my "true" size, and keep the 12s around for motivation .. once I can get those 12s on .. i'll probably go out and buy a 10
... i dont even REMEMBER the last time I was a 12 .. Woohoo for weight loss!
3) Yesterday morning, I rolled out of bed @ 11AM (gotta love being out the night before until 2:30am!) and as I walked into the kitchen to go into the computer room, my dad was sitting at the table and started asking me a question about something ... As I'm half standing there, half walking away, I can see his face is kind confused .. but whatever I just chaulk it up to him thinking about what we were talking about .. When i finally walk out of the room, he calls me back into the kitchen, and gives me a complete once over while I'm standing there in my over-size tshirt and fuzzy pajama pants (LOL) .. and he exclaims "WOW! I haven't really looked at you lately ,but you look so small! ... You look SO thin" .. I just laughed at him because #1" I am FAR from being thin .. #2: I didnt think he could get a good glimpse of me because my shirt & pants really were super huge lol .. #3: I still dont see myself as smaller than what I was .. obviously thats body distortion for ya! .... And he just kept going on and on about it .. I could tell he really did mean what he was saying .. so after awhile, I just accepted his compliments and told him he could compliment me anytime he wants
.... Then about 20 minutes later, he comes into the computer room with his sneakers in tow proclaiming " I gotta go to the gym now because you can't beat me at getting skinny!!" .. That was probably the best --- knowing that I'm inspiring him to go to the gym .. even if it was just for that one day
