what is the best thing to eat before a workout .... & after ????

    I try to keep it light before work. A banana, a granola bar, some peanut butter. that kind of thing.

    After for me really depends on how many calories I have left for the day.

    I rather be almost on an empty stomach before a work-out. I can run more and go harder for some reason versus when I'm full. After, I eat whatever I want as long as I have enough calories for it. I usually like to eat something that has protein to help my muscles recover.

    Pre-workout: nothing or a banana

    Post-workout: whey protein shake and then a meal an hour or so afterwards

    Yeah I can't run or do cardio unless I'm almost on an empty stomach. I usually have a snack around 3, and run around 5:30 or 6pm. Afterwards I eat dinner... and I try to have some protein in it as well.

    Pre workout I like a banana, post workout I like some almonds and yoghurt or a glass of milk.
