Hello,

I am new here today... I am just wondering how you record exercise that is not one specific exercise. Example I have just done a 20min toning exercise DVD and am unsure what to record this under in exercise.
It is probably very obvious and sorry if it is... I would appreciate any help

Thank you

Stacey

I usually put something like that as strength training.

I just use the hrm to tell me how many calories it was and then create my own exercise...cardio, or toning .... or the name of the disc. Then log the calories that way.

The easiest way is if you have an HRM (heart rate monitor) then you can just 'create" a new exercise in the database for you. If you don't have an hrm I would use low impact aerobics. MFP's cal burn numbers are estimates, so take them as you will.

    strength training,
    circuit training,
    and calisthenics (light and vigorous)

are all ways that I like to log my various efforts at exercise. I use a heart rate monitor and judge between what my monitor claims I've burned, and what MFP claims I've burned. They are normally within 10% of one-another. I like to use the monitor amount because it has fun numbers (like 142 instead of 140, strange, I know  )
  • OK, thank you very much! All a bit confusing but I will work it out.
Still in shock about the calories in my home-made chocolate brownie ha ha
